A school is a community made up of students, teachers, parents, carers, and extended family. However, a community is only as good as its members, and the effort they are willing to put into it.
Research has shown that children perform better at school, both academically and behaviourally, if their parents or care givers are involved in their education. One way to be involved and show your children that you care about their education is to join the P&C.
Other ways to be involved are to assist in the classroom, on excursions, walking to swimming or gymnastics, and to read with children. So if you are available during school hours ask your child's teacher what you can do to help.
The P&C sometimes run special projects or events that require funding. So, if you own, or know of, a business that is willing to be approached for donations/sponsorship please let us know.
Also, if you are willing to assist for projects or volunteer at events please email us your details including availability (eg. Need 2 weeks advance notice, or Mondays after 3pm) and any special skills you may have, eg DJ, clown, bricklayer, cook, painter, can cook a fabulous sausage/cupcake etc.
